[Yuuki is sitting up over the beach on the island, and though it's not an overcast day she's hiding beneath a lot of foliage. The sunlight on the islands is bright and refreshing, but it's not really something that her vampire-self can handle. Much as it pains her, she has to keep out of the sun as much as possible.

So when the video turns on, she focuses the feed out onto the sparkling water. She sounds tired - the sunlight and, well, being up during the daytime is difficult for her - but she still loves seeing a sight like this.]

Hello, everyone. It's Yuuki. [She leans into the footage for a moment with a smile that looks far less tired than she sounds.] I've been here for a couple of weeks now, I guess... It's really hard to believe that our homes aren't coming back anytime soon. You really miss some strange things when you're so far from home, don't you?

Does anyone know how to get our homes back? If it involves fighting, I can do that. I might not look like much, but I can do it! There are some people back home that I'd like to fight for. I'm sure there are others who feel the same way, so I thought that one of you might have organized something by now.

In the meantime, this place is really pretty, isn't it? Are there other places like this? Maybe without so much sunlight... I'd like to go somewhere with someone, but the sunlight is a little draining. I guess you could say we don't get out much.

Oniisama, please don't worry. I'm all right and I'll be back soon. I thought it might be nice to make some friends again, but these people probably just think I'm strange. It's all right, though. I'll come home soon.

[But she doesn't really want him to catch wind of how exhausted she's let herself become by forcing herself to stay under the sun for a little bit each day, so she leaves it at that. Really, she could use a large bed to collapse in, and some fresh blood, but she knows she should wait. She at least wants to see the sunset.]

I'm fine! I got to walk on the beach and collect seashells. And the ocean here is really pretty. Even though I know you don't like the sunlight, we should come here sometime at night. Even the moon on the water is great, and the ocean looks so dark then.

What have you learned? Did you get to visit any of them?

[Her reaction and subsequent omission are very telling]

[He'd been unable to resist the invitation to ask, even if the answer was wholly unnecessary. The two had grown up together, and shared their own unique sort of relationship. He couldn't fault her for missing him even if the feelings weren't mutual. How had Zero reacted when Yuuki had been exposed as a vampire? The thing he hated the most combined with the person he....

I am glad that your stay has been so enjoyable. [A light smile that he reserved only for her] If Yuuki says it's that beautiful, then it must be.

I would be delighted to accompany you there one day.

[Yuuki seems to be blossoming in these new worlds, free from the established society back home that wouldn't allow them this much freedom if they were still within it's confines.]

There are a few with environments more.. forgiving for people like us. [filtered or not, Kaname still avoided openly using the term vampire] .. however I have my doubts about some of them.

Only a few. [Like Beast castle when he'd attended that Halloween ball]

Just a little... But I miss everyone at home. I wonder if they'd like it here. We don't have to hide or fight. We can finally enjoy ourselves.

[He'd had a similar impression of this world when he arrived here, yet he didn't feel as comfortable as Yuuki did. Yes, it seemed safer than the world they had come from but it surely had perils of its own. Besides.. if they had found their way here so could their enemies. One couldn't afford to be too careless. Ah, but he didn't wish to darken her spirits]

I'm sure they might enjoy a vacation of sorts. [The tension had been thick back at Cross Academy, what with Shizuka's murder and the interference from the Hunter's Association and the Council... then the events from Yuuki's recollection would have caused huge discord in the remaining vampire populace.]

[It always surprised him when Yuuki acted so casually with him but it was something he was truly glad for.] Even me.

[That expression of hers was very telling but it was so endearing. He decides not to call her on it lest she still wishes to make her own inquiries about the other worlds]

[He nodded] Worlds with less sunlight. In some of those worlds, there are far more heartless. Apparently, they also enjoy the dark of night.

Beast's castle is the first world aside from Traverse Town that I visited. [That world had supposedly been darker before the Beast and his lady fair had grown closer together. ] The scenery is quite nice, plenty of shade from the surrounding forest. I had also traveled to the world that never was... mostly to sate my own curiosity. I assure you the ominous name is warranted.

[We shant be going there. It's obvious that those were the only worlds he'd visited as he proceeded to tell her the others he was looking into.]

The Deep Jungle world should be well shaded by its forest however the amenities would be severely lacking. Halloween town.. [He wrinkled his nose] is another option. It's inhabited by ghosts, and the walking dead.. [Not exactly the sort of place he wants Yuuki to live in]

Perhaps.. we shouldn't limit our options by the amount of sunlight alone. What sort of world would you like to live in Yuuki? [This is all for your sake afterall]

I just want to live in a world where we don't have to hide. And maybe somewhere with a little bit of rain, so we can share our own umbrella someday.

But anywhere you choose, Oniisama, is fine with me.
