[Makoto took the device tentatively into her hand. The Moogle had been kind enough to turn it on for her but hadn’t had a chance to mention it before the brunette started turning it over from side to side. She was clearly kneeling down in order to be closer to the moogle, and her eyes were wide with curiosity]

Now,,,what is this thing again?

[This wasn’t the first time she’d seen anything like it, but it was the first time she’d seen this model… of…whatever it was. The view shifted from showing her face to the ground and sometimes caught snatches of the moogle. The moogle flailed a little and mouthed, “Its on!”. Makoto didn‘t catch it though.]

Hrn?

[Finally the moogle verbally explained it]

It’s a communicator, Kupo. It’s very important here, you should never be without it. Why don’t you introduce yourself to everyone

Everyone? [Makoto looked the moogle straight on then looked to the comm and noticed the red light. With a yelp..]

It’s on! [She threw it slightly into the air, obviously feeling embarrassed and flustered.] Why didn’t you tell me that before?!

I tried, Kupo! [Please don’t harm me]

[Makoto laughed awkwardly and placed a hand behind her head, then she pointed the lens back towards her.]

Uh… hi there everyone. I’m Makoto Kino, and I’m looking forward to meeting all of you. Well, maybe not all of you…but [She bowed her head for a moment then tried to end it on a positive note] If anyone could tell me more about this place, I’d really appreciate it.

That's good, when did you get here?

[Looks to the little creature, it nodded]

Yeah, I am. [She nodded to confirm it]

I arrived about four days ago.

[This was all still very new to her! ]

We could come get you?

No kidding? Then you haven't been here very long at all.

Or I could meet up with you if you can give me any directions. Either way is fine.

The gummi ships run on smiles, I am not really sure how to tell you how to pilot them.

It might be better if I came there. Are you near the items shop?

[Blink blink] Gummi ship? What's a Gummi ship?

Alright. I can be!

It isn't candy.

[That was the first thing Hotaru thought so it is the first misconception she corrects for Makoto. ]

It is some kind of space ship.

[This was an important item to clarify]

A space ship? No way!

I was surprised too, but they are really fun to ride in.

Excuse me. Hotaru-chan, would you like to go together?

Yes please. You are better at flying the gummi ship.

[Ami has had more practice at it! ]

Makoto said she would meet us by the item shop.

[She'll still totally let Hotaru pilot it some.]

I know where it is. It shouldn't take long to get there. Where shall we meet?

At the gummi ship dock? I can find my way there.

At the gummi ship dock, then. I'll leave now.

Ok, I will see you there.

[Hotaru smiles as a way of saying 'goodbye for now' before shutting the video feed off. ]

[Ami heads out after the polite goodbye, and makes her way to the docks. She's in a good mood with the prospect of seeing her friends from home again, and perhaps it's no coincidence that the gummi ship seems to go faster than normal, too.

Before long, she's disembarking at the Traverse Town docks and, as soon as she won't be in anyone's way, looking around to spot Hotaru.]

[Hotaru was there. She might have been difficult to spot however since she was kneeling on the ground buying something from one of the traveling moogle peddlers.
When she does finally look up she waves at Ami hoping that will be enough to attract the other senshi's attention. ]

[Ami breaks into a smile as soon as the movement catches her attention, and heads straight towards Hotaru.]

Hotaru-chan! It's good to see you.

[Hotaru finishes up her purchase and then hurries over to Ami's side. ]

It is nice to see you again too.

[Um... fidget.
Hotaru holds out her hand for Ami to take the small vile of potion she was holding for her.]

I thought since Mokoto just arrived I would give her one of these.
So, I got you one too.

[Ami eyes the potion, and holds it up to the light.]

What is it? Is it one of the healing potions?

Yes, it is supposed to be.

[She hasn't tried it yet of course, but the moogles sound friendly enough so it must be a healing potion? ]

Since Makoto just arrived I thought I would give her one of these.

[If the moogles gave it to Hotaru as a healing potion, then it definitely is one.]

Mm. Although, she doesn't seem hurt or injured. [Always a concern when the senshi arrive; they've had more than their share of battles.]

I know but maybe she will be able to use it later?

[Anyway a 'welcome to Traverse Town' gift sounded nice at the time. Maybe it was a little silly. ]

Should we go to the item shop now?

[It's a very good idea! Ami would have been thrilled to receive the same. She was just worried something had happened at first.]

Let's go. I'm sure she'll be happy to have your gift.

[Makoto leaned against a wall near the item shop, wondering when the others would get there, and just how far they had to travel. There wasn't much to do in the meantime but people/moogle watch. After a little while longer, she began to wonder if she was at the right shop...]
