[And onto the video screen comes a grinning face, looking just a bit excited. But then, he has something in his conniving little head. He can't quite seem to help it.

Or maybe he can. Half of his actions are a carefully kept facade. But either way, here's the grin and the video feed fidgets just a bit as he sets it down on a table.]

Good afternoon to everyone! I... am looking for something.

I think I'm getting the general lay of this place. Yesyes, it's starting to make sense. Fascinating as it is. Strange as it is. But I've yet to find a certain something I would rather like to acquire.

So tell my, dearies, can anyone tell me where I might find a spinning wheel?

( Belle laughs, lifting her hands to push her hair behind her ears before folding them neatly over her tummy, threading fingers together. )

Well, I've only had the one boss and he's a bit of a recluse, but I'll see if I can locate him for you.

[He steps towards her with a grin.] Just like old times, hmm?

Oh, I think I can find him rather easily.

( with that, she baps his chest lightly, playfully. ) I just hope that I get a good review.

I can't imagine him having anything but rave reviews for you, my dear.

[Oh... that touches his dark little cold heart. But instead of saying this, he grins, that manic, off-kilter grin.] Nor would I.

With that attitude, are you certain I even need his reviews?

( she blushes pink just sightly. ) I'm glad to hear it.

One can't be too careful. Good help is so hard to find! But very well, we'll waive the references and resume this time.

[He inclines his head just a bit, acknowledgment.]

Should there be a third rehire required, I'll be sure to provide them then, mm?

( for now, she'll take the 'rehire' happily. )

But I hope this is the last hiring I need to do. It's such a difficult tedious process. [Little laugh here.]

I hope so, too. I haven't much elsewhere to go if I manage to lose this job again. ( chuckling )

Well, I think your job security will be pretty impressive, deary. [He grins at her.]

( she raises her brows, though ) Who are you meant to speak with to purchase this building? Do we even know?

I'm quite aware you will.

[A little shake of his head.] Not yet! But it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out I imagine. I'm good at finding answers.

You are rather skilled in that department, yes. ( she shakes her head softly and adds: ) In most departments, really.

Why thank you! [He ducks another pleased little bow at that.] It's nice to know my talent is appreciated.

All but cleaning, as it were. ( she can't help but smirk. ) Had you just not researched said spells?

It was never... [A little gesture of his hands, flourished, but dismissive.] a priority.

( that causes her brow to furrow into a frown in thought. never a priority — until her father happened to ask for assistance? how did that work? )

Strange that you should want one when Papa asked for your help, then.

Strange, is it? That the dirt and the loneliness finally got to the point where they needed addressing?

[He offers her a grin right back.] We should! That is the next step. Then, a spinning wheel!

she tilts her head and pulls her lips into a tight line. ) You're not still planning to get it from Maleficent, are you?

Why, whatever would give you that idea?

( his lack of a proper answer just caused her to hold her breath. she frowned. that would be one adventure that Belle would be sitting out, thank you very much. she had heard the tales of the Maleficent from their world — two of them had to be doubly terrible, yes? )
