[Kanda hadn't gone to work in a few days, he really hadn't left his bedroom either. Because the guy was so quiet, it was hard to notice he was still there but sometime during the afternoon, Kanda came out, hair loose, shirtless, and with a blue duck in tow. He went straight for the fridge, the duckling looking over his leg at all the things inside.]

You want something? I guess I need to feed you at some point, just choose something.

[At his master's command, it crept towards the fridge raided the vegetables and then dragged out the gallon of juice. Kanda frowned.]

Hey, not the whole damned thing! You're going to drink that from a bowl like a normal-

[But the duck didn't seem to listen. There went the gallon of juice and Kanda just threw his hands up and started rummaging through the cupboards.]

Fine. Do whatever you want. Just don't tell Allen about this. [He found what he was looking for, a bottle of rum he took from Port Royal.] I'm not in the mood for anything today.

Even if they are, if they're from a different world that's here, or even moreso, one that isn't here, it might be a clue as to discovering a tear in which we could reach some environments that have yet to be brought over.

[There was a heavy pause. Ami was grateful that there wasn't any video for Kanda to see the crestfallen look that had settled on her face.]

[If Kanda allowed himself a moment of silence, he would hear a soft gasp on Ami's end.]

[Now he was just being polite. Ami still couldn't quite figure out why, especially with how terse he was about it.]

[Just don't. The day you realize he's actually a grumpy nice guy is the day Kanda has to compensate with even more douche-baggery to keep his reputation. Save yourself, Ami!]

[Ami bristled at the abrupt response from Kanda, but doesn't make a point to address it.]

What should I be packing? [She didn't know anything about where they were going, after all.]

Clothes. What do you think? [You're worse than Hotaru, Ami. At least Hotaru LISTENS.]

[She is listening...! Sob.]

How many days do you think this will take? I should probably let the others know...
