[The camera turns on to show a man in his early twenties with long, blond hair, glasses, and a concerned expression. He stares intently at the screen for a moment to be sure that the camera is on before he starts speaking in a deep, soft voice.]

Ritsuka, are you here? Are you injured? Call to me and I'll find you.

[Small boy. Dark hair. Purple eyes. Her age. He must mean her human age since even she didn't know her actual age. ...Still had his ears? The description almost fit two boys she knew, tho really she hadn't looked at them long enough to know what color their eyes were nor did she know any earless people. What a strange thing to say. Maybe it was another one of those odd human terms she didn't know.]

Uuh... I don't know what you mean by "still has his ears" all the boys I know have ears. I know one named Oz but he doesn't sound like your person and he's mine anyway! I know another boy who has dark hair and is short. He has both his ears to but is missing an eye. Um, and I know another one that actually has too many ears, dark hair and a tail.

[What's this about too many ears? He tries to picture a boy with too many ears, and can only come up with a boy who has cat ears on top of his cat ears. But this girl also doesn't understand what it means to still have ears, and she seems surprised by the idea of a tail... could she perhaps have been raised in a place of such widespread abuse that she doesn't understand childhood? He shudders inwardly.

But that is hardly important. The blond boy is obviously not it, nor is the one with too many ears. But the other boy has dark hair and ears. That could be it... only. Only Ritsuka is not missing an eye. Could he have lost an eye in the confusion after the darkness spread? His face pales.]

Where do these people live?

[Oh! She knew that answer! She understood all those words! She's walking around the room now, picking up random objects and sniffing them.]

They live at school with me, Oz, Too many ears, Cute girl and Candy hair. She has too many ears to.

Eye patch doesn't live here though. He only comes around to see cute girl.

[Soubi stares, mystified. This girl makes less and less sense. Perhaps she really is insane. Perhaps that would explain the lack of ears, too… and the strange sniffing of things that she is now doing. Could “Cute Girl” be a friend of Ritsuka’s?]

What does “Cute Girl” look like?

[She picks up a scented candle and sniffs. Oooh, this smells sweet!]

Uh... she's small to, has long springing yellow hair that she wears up at the sides like this! [She takes two handfuls of her own hair and holds them up in pigtails.]

She always has long dresses on, whenever she's not in class and is always smiling or talking about cute things. [Bringing the candle up to her mouth, she takes another sniff and then sinks her teeth into it. ...Chew. Chew. ... Bleeeck.]

[If Soubi was a responsible adult, he might have pulled the candle for Alice's mouth and told her to spit the wax out. Luckily for Alice, he is not a responsible adult.

But... which of Ritsuka's friends or classmates could that be? Yuiko wear pigtails and talks about cute things, but she never wears long dresses. At least not the last time Soubi saw her, last week on another world.]

What about the other girl?

[It's okay, even if he had taken been there to take it away, she'd of only bit down harder out of sheer stubbornness. This one had to learn her lessons on her own. So that is why she is spitting candle wax out on the floor and licking her arm to get the taste off her tongue.]

That does not taste as good as it smells... [She grumbles to herself and gives the candle a look as it it's very existence offends her, before tossing it across the room with a soft hiss.]

Eh, other girl? What girl? Candy?

[He chooses to ignore the unexplainable behavior.]

Yes. Candy.
