[The camera turns on to show a man in his early twenties with long, blond hair, glasses, and a concerned expression. He stares intently at the screen for a moment to be sure that the camera is on before he starts speaking in a deep, soft voice.]

Ritsuka, are you here? Are you injured? Call to me and I'll find you.

I remember talking to Yayoi-kun about curry. I was at school and we had been talking about a trip we were to go on.

[A school trip? Ritsuka had said something about a school trip several months ago. But how can she have been here as well as at home for two months? Not that Yuiko is likely to understand.]

Did Ritsuka come here at the same time that you did?

Around about the same time, yes. It was about a few days after I arrived that I found him.

[He sighs.]

I see. Where are you, Yuiko-chan? I want to come and see you.

I'm on Destiny Island right now.

Give me ten minutes, and I will be there.

Okay! Although, how would it take you en minutes?

Unless your already on the world, or are the Gummis really fast?

I am really fast. Wait where you are.

[The feed shuts off. But then three minutes later, it is back on. Soubi is looking decidedly miffed.]

I'm sorry, Yuiko. I might be a bit late. The ships only run on smiles.

Oh! That's right, it's a little odd, but I find them fun since it runs on smiles.

Do you want me to come help?

No, I'll arrive shortly.

[In the background there is the cheery yelling of a conductor, and a pained smile tugs at Soubi's mouth. It looks as if smiling is just about the last thing he wants to do; his eyes are hard as flint. But Soubi knows better than to let his own feelings get in the way of Ritsuka and his friends.]

I can come and do it, it would be easier, right?

[But then the camera jars a bit and Soubi immediately stops smiling.]

Never mind. We are here.

Oh! Okay.

[And in about two more minutes, Soubi sees Yuiko. He waves, smiling.]

Yuiko-chan, there you are!

Oops, nearly lost it.

Hello! Did you manage to find Ritsuka-kun?

Yes, and he explained the situation to me. Are people at the school here kind to you?

Yes, they have, but I was told not to let them get me down.

[He frowns.]

Do they say unkind things to you?

No, they just get surprised when they see me.

[He's still confused. Yuiko is tall for her age, and over-developed, but her looks aren't exactly something to stare at.]

Why are they surprised?

They don't see many people with cars and a tail. I've noticed a lot of people don't have them. So either they're all adults or it's not common here.

[He nods.]

It would seem that, for some reason, most people here weren't born with ears and a tail. Are you bullied for your looks, Yuiko-chan?

Oh no, they just seemed a little odd, but so far no ones really brought it up.
