Soubi Agatsuma, Spell 1 [Video]

[The camera turns on to show a man in his early twenties with long, blond hair, glasses, and a concerned expression. He stares intently at the screen for a moment to be sure that the camera is on before he starts speaking in a deep, soft voice.]

Ritsuka, are you here? Are you injured? Call to me and I'll find you.

Don't make a big deal out of it...

[Ritsuka shoots the pet an annoyed glare when it raises it's pawn in response to Soubi's greeting.]

Mincc!

[Soubi shakes its hand with his pointer finger and thumb, grinning.]

It's a nice name. Is it male, or female?

...I don't know... I didn't check.

[He suddenly hugs Ritsuka from behind.]

You don't need to be embarrassed, Ritsuka. It's perfectly normal to miss someone you care for.

[Why yes, he is fishing for the much-anticipated "I love you" statement.]

[Ritsuka makes a small sound o surprise when he's suddenly hugged. His face flaring up a dark shade of red again. If Soubi was looking for an "I love you" he had a very long wait, but Ritsuka couldn't deny that he had missed his fighter.]

...I thought I'd never see you again... [He finally says in low and sad tone.]

[He kisses the top of Ritsuka's head, still clinging to him.]

I would never leave you like that, Ritsuka.

I know and it wasn't your fault anyway, so please, don't be upset.

[He rest a hand on Soubi's forearm and leans back against him. His tail swishes calmly and he closes his eyes enjoying the close contact, even if he'd never admit to missing it. Even the light scent of cigarette was appreciated, even if Ritsuka normally hated that smell.]

It's just... good to have you here. [It was so much better than Ritsuka ever cared to admit.]

[He smiles at the contact; the way Ritsuka snuggles against him like a baby makes his heart melt. How perfect his Ritsuka is, how sweet and angelic. He caresses Ritsuka's cheek gently.]

And I will never leave you.

[He wanted to make him promise that. To tell him never to disappear again, but he again, keeps the emotion inside and only clings tighter to Soubi's forearm.]

Don't scare me like that again... okay?

[His heart breaks a bit at that. The hug gets tighter; he smooths Ritsuka's hair gently, soothingly.]

I did not intend to scare you... but I will never do anything like that again. I promise.

I know you didn't... [His ears twitch softly, whenever Soubi's palm passes over them and his heart feels a little lighter when he hears that promise. Though Soubi's promises weren't always the most reliable, he'd allow himself to trust in them once more.]

You must be tired after your trip... come on, I'll tell you all about this place once we get inside.

[Gently untangling himself from Soubi's embrace, he start to lead him over to the hotel to get Soubi a room.]

[Soubi looks rather disappointed to leave Ritsuka's embrace, but he follows obediently.]

Do you and your little Soubi have a house? Who was caring for you?

[He coughs a little when the pet is called his "Little Soubi" and mutters.]

I said I'm changing the name...

[He hugs the pokemon a little tighter.]

I've been caring for myself just fine... and we live at the school. Most of the kids live there. They give us rooms, food and keep us safe from the Heartless.

[This makes him frown with concern.]

Do they give you care aside from food and housing?

[Though, if it's a school, the caregivers are probably teachers, and he's not sure he wants to hear that, either.]

What do you mean?

[He starts leading Soubi up the stairs and to the door that lead to the second district, but before reaching them he stops and points to the moogle shop.]

I work here with the moogles in the afternoon, though the job requires me to be out and around the city. So I'll be around if you need me, but on weekday mornings I'll be at school on the Destiny Islands.

[Then a thought occurs to him.] Has anyone explained travel and the different planets to you?

I mean: do they care for you? Do they help you or comfort you if you need it?

[He thinks about Rituska's explanation of his job.]

You are young to be working, Ritsuka. Do you do it for pay, or for fun?

[...And, the planets. Yes, those might be a problem.]

I know that the planet we are on is quite small, but that transport between this and nearby planets is possible, somehow.

I don't need stuff like that. [Ritsuka says dismissively.]

They have a school nurse and stuff if we're injured and I guess people can talk to the teachers if they have any of those other needs.

[He explains and starts walking again.]

Um, money I guess and knowledge. The moogles do pretty much everything on these worlds. Hanging around them is the fastest way to learn about this place.

[His brow is furrowed with concern as he looks down at Ritsuka. Suddenly he speeds up and turns around in front of Ritsuka, kneeling so that he is on the same level as the boy.]

Ritsuka, come live with me.

[Ritsuka stumbles a bit when Soubi's suddenly in front of him then stares at him with a surprised expression.]

W-what? No, I... [He shakes his head to gather his thoughts and words.]

I can't... Yuiko is here to and I can't leave her alone at the school...

[But Soubi is determined. He takes Ritsuka's hands in his, squeezing them and feeling their weight.]

You need someone to protect you, Ritsuka. Someone to make sure you get the food you like and have a clean home to live in.

[Ritsuka looks down at their joined hands and softly squeezes Soubi's fingers.]

I do get food and you just got here, Soubi, you don't have a home yet.

[Ha. A gentle reminder, but certainly an apt one. It still won't stop him.]

Then we will have to find a home big enough for both of us, won't we?

You need money for that and you can't earn enough for that if you have to support us both...and what about Yuiko? She'll be all alone...

[He smiles confidently.]

I'm an adult, Ritsuka. I can earn plenty for both of us.

[Somehow.]

[And Ritsuka, stubborn as ever only gives Soubi a light pat on the head. The gesture saying he thinks his fighter is sweet... but being a total idiot.]

Then start thinking like one. You are going to be living in a hotel room until you have money. If I keep my job I can help us afford a house for you, me and Yuiko.

[Still, he knew Soubi wasn't going to be okay with Ritsuka living on a whole other planet.]

But, I'll come to the hotel and stay with you at night though, after I do my homework, okay? [He'll have to wake up earlier to make it to classes, but if it'll keep Soubi's mind at ease, he'll do it.]
