[Ugh. Not only was he beaten in a fight by some younger girl, he also bears the feelings of coming out of darkness. Again. It never gets any easier. There was something else, something odd about things said in a couple of encounters he's had, but he doesn't feel like bringing any of that up just yet. Kain doesn't really... want to face any people right now, but he feels he owes this apology as an act of penance. So he'll do this and then he intends to vanish. Forever if he can manage.]

[He'd vowed never to turn Dark again, and now look what's happened.]

To anyone I've harmed or spoken harshly toward, I apologize. There's no excuse for my recent behavior...

[Kain hadn't wanted to jump right in with... that part, and it still brings him a lot of shame. So he looks away and nods, before he continues.]

Cecil and Rosa are my childhood friends. I would do anything for them, but... I was once turned against them, by a powerful force of darkness.

I figure Cecil and Rosa are just oblivious. Granted, Dany's canon is much darker, hahaha.

[A pause. Kain has never... really told this story to anyone before, since all involved knew what happened. It's not easy for him to do this.]

My mind was cast into darkness and controlled, my actions no longer entirely my own. All I could do was watch myself act on those horrible impulses... I had a hand in kidnapping Rosa, I tried to kill my best friend, Cecil... and I turned traitor in this manner twice upon my allies.

Yet I'm weak and powerless to resist the darkness... and that darkness is still inside me, even now. Perhaps it always will be. It awaits another opportunity to come forth.I should be stronger, and at times I am, yet should it win out...

[At least, it never existed as something that Kain could feel in the same way. It was always there, whether or not he's even aware. He pauses and stares at her a moment, then removes the helmet. He shakes his long hair out.]

I wear this armor to honor the dragoons... and because in this world, threats could arise at any time. Heartless are on all the worlds. It's not out of distrust of you. I trust you, something you must realize is not lightly given. That's why I must ask...

[Even not knowing her full background, Kain is aware of how difficult this is to ask of anyone. Most anyone. It had been easy to ask it of Edge but... that was Edge. Whereas Cecil and Rosa would never even consider it as an option. Yet despite their good intentions, that isn't what Kain wants.]

But if it does... my life is as good as over. I say this now, with my willpower intact so you've no doubt of my wishes.

[He looks at her directly, tone firm and even more serious than usual, if that's possible.]

I ask you to kill me if I turn to the Darkness.

[It's fair enough to Kain, who just wants himself stopped, he doesn't care what it takes. Although he's not too sure he's going to want to live with himself if he goes evil and harms anyone.]

...but thank you. I don't ask this lightly... but I don't want you to have any doubts should it come to that. I hope that it doesn't.

[And he can tell that she's been upset by him asking this, he hesitates a moment, unsure and wishing he knew better how to be of comfort.]

[Kain feels bad about the whole situation, about having to ask such a thing of her. It's nothing someone should have to ask of their friends and yet only a friend can be trusted with such a task.]
