[Padmé has listened to every word the moogles have told her, and it's long after they've left that she finally turns to the oddly-shaped communicator. She's wounded, but she turned down the creatures' offers of help. Whatever pain these wounds might cause her hasn't registered to her; a very large part of her is numb.

She knows the dangers of making a public call for help; if the bounty hunter that's after her made it here as well, she's little more than a sitting target for him without Anakin. But if she doesn't do something, her fears will never be put to rest--or confirmed.

So when she turns on the communicator, she's wearing a grim expression.]

I am Padmé Amidala, a Senator representing the thirty-sixth regional state space of the Galactic Senate. The planet I was on-- [she pauses for hardly a beat, but she can't bring herself to say its name;] --met with misfortune. Though it seems this isn't uncommon, it's imperative that I'm contacted by any Jedi that might have survived.

[She won't name Anakin by name; she can't even attempt it.]

If there are any others that can hear me... Please, tell me what I can do to return that world, and any others in the galaxy. I'd do anything to help them.

[She watches him for a moment, trying to gauge just how sincere he is. Seeing nothing to suggest otherwise, she actually laughs.]

Something like that. I'm glad you agree.

[He scratches the back of his head almost shyly.]

Course I do. The Jedee, I mean Jedi are kind of like your guardians?

Not usually, but before I arrived they were seeing to my safety. I've only had Jedi assigned to me twice; they're typically busy settling other disputes in the galaxy. On a typical day I have my own security, and I have since I served as the queen to my world.

You were queen?! What do you mean by served?

[Ah, other worlds did work differently, she guessed.]

On Naboo, the queen is elected by the public vote. I was very young when I served my two terms; merely thirteen when I was first elected. Afterward I was asked by the new queen to become the representative for Naboo in the Galactic Senate. I couldn't refuse her.

[And he thought Yuna was too young to be saving the world. She was.]

How long afterward?

I was a queen for six years, and nineteen when I became a senator. It's been five years since then.

So you've spent like more than a decade doing that!

That's right, more than half of my life.

[Considering her role as a politician began when she was eight, it was well over half. But if she had retired when she meant to, she would never have reunited with Obi-Wan and Anakin.]

And I have no plans to stop.

I like being able to help others. It allows me to do that.

[He goes quiet and smiles enigmatically.]

I see. That's good. So, what else do you like?

[She actually has to pause; she hasn't thought of doing anything for herself in a long while.]

I enjoy spending time with my family, swimming in the lake country--simple things. What about yourself? I don't even know your name yet.

[He thinks he knows why she pauses, but says nothing.]

You like swimming too? Me? Oh! I'm Tidus. I like swimming too. And spending time with my friends.

I loved the water, back when I used to go swimming. I haven't been in a while.

[Life's simply too busy.]

Have you been reunited with many of your friends here, Tidus?

Now that you're here, you should go swimming some time! There are plenty of places to swim.

Not many. [He smiles, almost shyly.] But an important one.

Maybe I can make time for it soon.

[She sees that shy smile; it's something she's seen before and it's enough for her to guess.]

What's her name?

Yuna. Her name is Yuna.

[There were more important things for her to worry about, like getting Anakin back somehow, but enjoying the water again... It did sound nice.]

Introduce me sometime.

[He smiles cheerfully.]

You would like her. She's kind, graceful. She's a summoner. She's going to beat Sin. And she's kinda shy...but it's like...cool?

[It's a lot of information to take in quickly, but she does it well.]

A summoner?

Yeah, she summons these things called Aeons. They take on the appearance of these great, magical creatures.

All to defeat this being known as Sin?

[She knows there are beasts on many worlds, but somehow this sounds more grave.]

[He nods.]

Sin's tormented Spira for a thousand years. Because of it, people can't build very big cities, or know when the towns or villages they built will be destroyed. Know which members of their family are going to die next.

But all that changes-- I mean! It will change. Because of Yuna and me.
