❀ Eighth Illusion ❀ Kanda Yu : Video / Twilight Town
[Kanda hadn't gone to work in a few days, he really hadn't left his bedroom either. Because the guy was so quiet, it was hard to notice he was still there but sometime during the afternoon, Kanda came out, hair loose, shirtless, and with a blue duck in tow. He went straight for the fridge, the duckling looking over his leg at all the things inside.]
You want something? I guess I need to feed you at some point, just choose something.
[At his master's command, it crept towards the fridge raided the vegetables and then dragged out the gallon of juice. Kanda frowned.]
Hey, not the whole damned thing! You're going to drink that from a bowl like a normal-
[But the duck didn't seem to listen. There went the gallon of juice and Kanda just threw his hands up and started rummaging through the cupboards.]
Fine. Do whatever you want. Just don't tell Allen about this. [He found what he was looking for, a bottle of rum he took from Port Royal.] I'm not in the mood for anything today.

K-kanda! What's wrong? [she frowns, glancing over her shoulder back where Kanda's eyes had been.]
What is it you're seeing?
no subject
I can see her. Sometimes when I walk out of a room, she... goes away. [He sounded like such an idiot, didn't he. Talking about ghosts and things only he could see. Like a crazy person.]
no subject
Even if it's strange, she's not about to judge Kanda, considering the things that he's been through.]
Kanda, slow down.

I died once, Lenalee. I saw my death. I know I died but I haven't. I just- it's a past life. I used to be someone else, another exorcist. The order couldn't afford to be losing them so they figured if they took what made them what they were and put it into something else, they would be able to have an exorcist again. Do you understand?
no subject
I understand, Kanda. [She's kind of horrified that the order would do something like that to the exorcists that work for them, but well.... considering everything it's not all that farfetched.]

Last week made things worse. I can... I can see her.
no subject
You mean even though things have been set right, it's effected your nightmares.... [That's... not good.]
Who is it? ... That you see.
no subject
She was my lover. Not mine but, in those memories she was my lover.
no subject
Perhaps it's because a part of you still longs for her, that you're seeing her everywhere?
no subject
[But he does love her. Because he used to love her, so he can't change that.]
no subject
I'm certain it will work out, Kanda. [She sets a hand on his arm lightly, an attempt at comfort.]

I mean... I don't think you'll always be haunted by your past life.

I'm sorry Kanda. I wish there was something else I could do.

Allen? [Why would she...]
Don't worry Kanda. This is a conversation between you and me.

You should try to relax tonight. Maybe even stay home tomorrow. [AND REST]

Take a nap for now. [she'll shuffle you to bed later.]

Don't leave yet.
[He muttered, grabbing her by the arm and pulling her over to him. He normally didn't like company but now that she at least knew his predicament, he felt a little more reassured. She would understand. Just a little bit.]
no subject
I'll stay.
