( there’s a clunk of a book falling to a table, which hits her device and causes it to start recording. )
Bother, I’ll get that in a moment… ( she mutters to herself and for a time it goes unnoticed to the housekeeper that the trinket is recording at all, as she’s still busying herself with dusting the shelf the book fell from. clearly it’s been far too long since this place had a proper and complete cleaning, she’s been trying, but the whole building needed a one over and it’s been taking a lot of time.
still!
Belle finally settles down to a chair in the front room of Rumpel’s shop, fanning herself with the collar of her dress as she tosses the rag to the table. ) So much work to do here, this is almost worse than Dark Castle was.
( it’s then that she finally notices the device and smiling to it, leans to grasp it. )
Well, well… I don’t suppose anyone wants to lend a hand with a bit of clean-up? ( she chuckles, considering it’s not really what one would normally call a ‘bit’ of a clean-up. ) I suppose I might as well serve this as a public announcement: anyone with severe dust allergens might want to avoid Rumpelstiltskin’s store — at least for another hour or two before I’ve finished with it.

( she chuckles, greeting him with a smile as he comes into her 'area of expertise,' as it were. she's a ridiculously good cook, as it happens, so while Rumpel can tend to the front of the store, she can prepare meals in the back for their dinners. )
I think he's attracted to clutter and dust, that man. ( she shifts her weight from one foot to the other. ) Thank you for the offer to help, I might be dusting forever otherwise.
( not that she really minds )
( action )
[his grin betrays his attempt at a serious tone and he starts looking around the kitchen with interest, walking around as he does.]
You know, you're probably right. All that dust can't be healthy. We have to save him before he...sneezes in a potion or trips in a dust cloud or something. [He turns on his heel to face her again, hands on his hips.] I'm happy to help. This is some serious cleaning business.
( action )
I never thought of that, but I can't imagine adding a sneeze or two into a brew would go over well, to be honest. ( amusing though it may be to see him flail about at making a mistake, it's not worth the crankiness that would follow. ) There's a hefty amount to be done. Dusting, sweeping, mopping... ( to name a few )
( action )
Yeah, for all we know what might be intended to be a shielding spell could end up attracting...what's worse than Heartless? [he makes a fist and smiles. he's always up for a challenge.] Sounds like fun! Which is your least favorite to do? I can start with that.
( action )
A large number of Heartless? ( sheepish shrug. ) Well, I can take care of most of the things back here since it won't hold up the store. ( she smiles though ) But, I'm not entirely fond of mopping, if you'd like to do that one?
( action )
I mean, that sounds fine.
( action )
( giving a laugh, she just nods to him ) Mopping it is, let me get you a bucket. ( and so she moves to do so for him )
( action )
[he walks around in circles, careful not to ruin any of her hard work.] Thanks.
( action )
( and she returns from the kitchen a short time later with a bucket full of sudsy water, offering him a mop to use ) Mm, no — thank you. Mopping is the worst, all that leaning over really doesn't make my back feel good.
( action )
[he takes the mop and dunks it into the bucket, causing some of the water to spill at his feet. He stirs it a little before wringing it out and getting started.] I'd be happy to do it whenever. You already work really hard. I could use the practice for swordfighting.
( action )
( with him taking over the mopping duties, Belle returns to her own bucket of water and setting it to a table, begins to wash down the bookshelves she's finally managed to rid of a thick layer of dust. ) Swordfighting? Mopping?
( action )
[he pauses while mopping the floor, holding it up with one hand.] Well it's...kind of like a sword. You hold it. And they have nothing else in common.
( action )
( she laughs at his comparison. ) I suppose it's got the same length as a sword, yes.
( action )
It's a lot more soapy though. [he grins, splashing the mop down.]
( action )
( again she's laughing ) Perhaps the suds are some form of sword-majicks.
( action )
It must be a new spell. [he swings the mop around a little, being careful not to get anything but the floor (and himself) wet.] I'll clean my enemies until they're defeated!
( action )
That must be why people say— ( annnd here she thrusts her arm as though she has a sword in it. ) 'Take that you scum!'
( since, you know, you clean scum.
she's so clever.
nothaaaaa. )( action )
[he blinks at her a few times, before he bursts out laughing. yeah, he might be overdoing it, but he needed that. he manages to talk once it dies down.] Must be. That phrase makes a lot more sense now.
( action )
Hey! ( but she's laughing with him, and eventually stops as well, chuckling gently in favor. ) I thought it was rather sharp of me!
