Okay. Alright. Let me get this straight. That dream I had about the freaking Apocalypse coming really wasn't a dream and it was actually Darkness eating my world. Because there's apparently an infinite number of other worlds out there, including ones that are supposed to be complete works of fiction.

[Another laugh and then...]

Either this is some really elaborate joke or someone slipped a powerful hallucinogenic drug into my food! Either way, I'm ONTO you, pal! [He points into the feed with a scowl.] You're not going to get away with this, and when I find you, you'll be crapping bullets!

Let's just, for a moment, assume you're right. That... everything that shop clerk told me was true. And basically my world got... eaten by shadow creatures.

That begs the question: why didn't anyone know about this before now? And I don't want to hear any of that doom's day prediction bullshit, either! It's not even close to being one of those so-called "predicted days", anyway.

I have no idea! * Seriously old man she can't hold your hand through everything here!* Only way I figure it is someone brought it up to you or me or any other sane person where we're from we'd ignore them for being a nutcase.

Anyone that witnessed this darkness and stuck to talking about it would be assumed to have had a psychotic episode or something. If they're smart they'd sit on it to avoid the loony bin.

Which doesn't do much for us right now, does it? We're stuck here and we will just have to deal. Unfortunately. Maybe we can bring some sanity to this place. Me bringing a bit more than you.

Think about it: if it was that big of a threat, more than just a couple people would have noticed it. Eventually, it would have broken into the media about how all of these people are suddenly going on about Darkness and shadow creatures. ...You're right, we all would have suspected they needed to be shipped off to a mental institution, but that doesn't take away from the fact that nobody knew anything about this beforehand. According to a few of the residents here, this has been going on a lot longer than I've been here. These shadow creatures have been attacking worlds for over a decade.

I heard that. ...But frankly, that's the best idea I've heard since I got here.

It might be going on all this time in one form or another. I mean, look at fiction and children, the dark is a pretty well respected thing. You're a cop, which would you rather bust in on, a well lit house or a dark abandoned one. Every horror film, ever scary story has darkness as a pretty common theme.

*She's going to just smirk, because she doesn't care if you heard that, she's been right more than you. She wins!*

That's an entirely different thing. That darkness doesn't try to eat you-- and that darkness is there because of the lack of illumination, not because of... the evil in peoples' hearts or whatever.

I don't know! If it wasn't for the ending up in a stupid town full of stupid teddy bears with people from obviously different times and places from normal 21st century Earth I'd agree with you that darkness is just a lack of light.

But here we are. *gestures around her* This is what we have to work with.
