[Well well, this little communicator was invaluable. Oh yes, people shared and shared and shared. And Rumpelstiltskin listened. He's only just arrived, but he that hasn't stopped him from paying attention, from learning how this little thing worked. Now though, he flips his own on to share a bit himself. The video shows his strange smiling face, but before he manages to speak, he laughs, all at once, a sudden explosion of a trilling little sound.] This is terribly interesting, isn't it?

Tell me, has anyone else noticed... [A little pause here and he wiggles his fingers.] familiar faces that aren't actually familiar here? I just don't know what to make of it. [This was a lie. He'd already decided to use it to his advantage. Oh there were ways to do this; he was sure of it. He was still working it through though.]

But since we're speaking of familiarity, let me introduce myself. [A toothy grin that was largely not as reassuring as he might have hoped.] My name is Rumpelstiltskin and I am... a purveyor of necessities and fondest desires and useful magics. If you find yourself in need of the unfindable, well, I humbly... [He ducks his head in a bit of a mock bow, undermined a bit by another laugh.] offer my services. Of course, bear in mind, all things, especially magical, have their price. One can't do business for nothing!

[Rumpelstiltskin's head tilts to the side. Pretty music. Quite impressive.

But not his taste.]

Well time will tell. But the last I checked, I am still me. And I have that in my favor.

[A high pitched, manic little giggle explodes past his lips.] But what fun to find out. I always do like a challenge.

[Zoisite's going to like him.]

Then you will do here - if you are serious.

Oh how nice to hear. [He may be dropping another little bow if the dip in the view from communicator is any indication.] What's the expression? Oh yes, I'm serious as the grave, deary.

You are not disturbed to be gone from your world?

Oh no, I was fully expecting that exact thing. [All said quite conversationally, cheerfully, like discussing weather over a nice cup of tea.] I just didn't expect it to be this world.

Curses are funny that way though!

[The little imp has his attention.]

Curses?

[He could almost laugh; after so long trying to convince Kunzite to shake off Beryl's curse, someone talking so naturally of another.]

Well, a curse in particular. [He holds up a single finger before wagging it back side to side.]

One of the most powerful I've known. And believe me, I have known many curses. But, even so, still not unbreakable! They so seldom are.

[He has the grim satisfaction of knowing the witch that caused his suffering will be punished in the end.]

They are not unbreakable. It is possible to free oneself.

[A little nod at that.]

Well, assuming one wants to. [He will be keeping his curse, thank you. He ruined his one chance at a happy ending to keep it.]

[Grey eyes look directly at the video feed for just a moment.]

Why would you not wish to be free?

Not all curses are without their benefits. It's all a matter of whether or not the cost is too high to bear.

[A slow, toothy sort of smile.] Some are fond of power, or at least, not willing to sink back into weakness.

There are also curses with no benefit at all. [He speaks from long and deep experience; though he has his own will, he is not outside Beryl's curse. Not yet.]

This is certainly true. Those, well, those are best broken. [A shrug of his shoulders.]

And those who labor under them will struggle until they find the life they wish for.

If they can. Struggling seems fairly intrinsic to life. [Everyone. Always scurrying for just another day to survive. He himself was no exception.]

I do not think so. I do not struggle for my own sake, but for my master. [And even he, with so many reasons to be jaded, believes there are others who are similar, who live not for themselves but for something else, whether a person or ideal or whatever it may be, whatever they may treasure.]

Still a struggle! [Rumpelstiltskin chirps helpfully.] We all have our reasons, don't we? You must be quite dedicated to this master of yours.

I treasure him above all else. [This is spoken matter-of-factly, almost with detachment, as is often his way; but there is an undercurrent of steel to it.]

[A little nod at that. Interesting, interesting.] I see.

Being in this place must complicate that. Unless, of course, your master is here as well.

He is not. Even my music will not reach him from here. However, I will wait and I will act for him.

[For a moment he looks remarkably serious.]If there's a chance for reunion, then you're wise to hold onto it.

I have seen others brought from the darkness. There is a chance.

I expect that's true. [HMM. Others from the darkness? In his case, he hopes not.]

[He has seen even the girl who destroyed his world here before. But his master, Earth's prince, no.

Tell him how that could ever be fair.]

If not him, perhaps also my comrades will come.

Perhaps they will! That does sound nice, doesn't it?

[A bit of a shrug and he tilts his head to the side.] I have no one to await or hope for.
