Deal 002 ❖ [Video]

[And onto the video screen comes a grinning face, looking just a bit excited. But then, he has something in his conniving little head. He can't quite seem to help it.

Or maybe he can. Half of his actions are a carefully kept facade. But either way, here's the grin and the video feed fidgets just a bit as he sets it down on a table.]

Good afternoon to everyone! I... am looking for something.

I think I'm getting the general lay of this place. Yesyes, it's starting to make sense. Fascinating as it is. Strange as it is. But I've yet to find a certain something I would rather like to acquire.

So tell my, dearies, can anyone tell me where I might find a spinning wheel?

( briefly, Belle winces at the illumination of the lights. looking around more properly now that the place has sprung to life, she smiles. much better with the lights on, still filthy and most certainly in need of work, but it's nothing she hasn't dealt with before and does not mind working with yet again.

nodding to the stairs, she motions to him to go up first )

You go ahead and lead the way, good sir.

[Rumpelstiltskin peeks around, hands clasped behind his back. Hmm. Well, this was all pretty good. Yes, he could certainly work with this.

But he heads to the stairs.] Oh? Well, certainly. Just in case there's something unsafe, of course. Are you the type to be scared of mice?

( raising her brows, she shakes her head softly, following him to the stairs and up. ) If I were scared of mice, I wouldn't have fared well in my, "bedroom" in your castle. ( she makes a vague motion with her hands ) Well, for the brief time that it was such, that is.

Well that is a good point, deary. I hadn't considered that side of your accommodations.

[But up the stairs he goes, skipping a step here or there in his rush to get to the top.]

( choosing not to continue down the route of discussing their previous time together, Belle sets her hand to the railing of the stairs. reaching the top of the stairs, she notes the doors along the hall and speaks up: )

So, as long as there are at least two rooms and a washroom, we should be rather well off here, don't you think?

Well... unless you'd like to be roommates, yes, that would be the ideal plan. [He grins a little, giggling as he looks around. And they're in luck. There are actually a number of rooms up here, three bedrooms -- one they can use for, well, goodness knows what. But extra space is nice.]

Hmm. Not bad at all.

( for a moment she looked almost startled at him. the woman was definitely not expecting something such as that for a response. color touched her cheeks and she cleared her throat, hoping to be rid of the blush to no avail. so, instead, she just tries to run with the joke. ) Are you inviting me to share your bed? How completely ungentleman-like of you.

( unfortunately for herself, though, she's still rather completely flustered. )

[He glances back to her with a decidedly evil little grin on his face.] Now now, deary. When have you ever known me to be a gentleman?

Maybe I am asking at that! [A quick little burst of laughter.] But then again, I can't imagine I'd make a very good bedfellow.

You do have gentleman-like moments, you know. ( after all, there was that time with the rose...

any normal woman would have been at least mildly exasperated with him, or rather, wouldn't be having such a conversation with him whatsoever. but Belle? apparently she's special. ) Ah, well... ( she coughs gently, looking anywhere but at him ) Should all the parts work I can't imagine why...

( is that the sound of her trailing off? yes? perfect. clearing her throat, thoroughly embarrassed, she moves toward one of the doors and heads inside to occupy herself and hopefully regain her composure. )

Have I? Well, that's something of a surprise to hear!

[...did she just? She totally did, didn't she? He blinks, and for the first time in what may be just forever, Rumpelstiltskin finds himself blushing.] Oh no, deary. Everything is in perfect working order.

[He's standing and staring after her now. Time to regain his composure though and follow along.]

Oh come now, surely it's not that shocking to be told. ( about being semi-gentlemanly, that is. )

W, well that's... ( all kinds of trailing off. good? was she really going to follow that up with good? good for what?

well, that's what she got for opening her big mouth, so yes. she did, and she is so, so horribly embarrassed about it. so much so that she will likely go home and hide for the rest of her life once they're finished with this little outing. how did that even pass her lips?

a breath passing her lips as though to tell herself to settle down, Belle runs her fingers over the tuft of her dress and clearing her throat, motions around to the room. ) Seems to be in working order.

( crap. open mouth, insert foot. worst timing for that sentence. )

Quite shocking, actually.

[Rumpelstiltskin looks at her, a bit expectantly. But then she doesn't continue.

And he's almost disappointed.

He's just behind her when she does speak again, rocking up on his toes then back on his heels as he peers around the room. And then she speaks, and he finds himself startling. Did she... again?

And this time he does laugh. He steps forward and settles a hand against her back.] Yes, deary. That's what I was getting at.

The room will do nicely too.

( and then there's a sigh, despite her ridiculous blush. she even lifts a hand to touch her face briefly, sliding her tongue over her lips as she tries to decide if she wants to attempt opening her mouth again, lest something else horrid come from it. )

Th, that is not— ( damn it, back to him having the upper hand. speaking of, her back arches just slightly at his touch and she smiles to herself. it's always been nice to be able to jest with him. at least she hasn't lost that ability just yet. )

Yes the room will do.

[Another trilling little giggle at that. He can see the blush on her features, and really, it's kind of fetching. She's gorgeous by default, of course, always has been.

Pretty little thing, but the most interesting bit about her was what went on in that clever, fearless little mind of hers.]

Perfect. Then I'll see about settling up with the owner, and we'll have a place to call home.

Which room would you like?

Whichever one you don't choose, I imagine. ( turning her head slightly, she gives a light smirk in his direction. ) This being your new home and all, you would get first choice.

( taking a few strides toward the window, she pulls the curtain opened to look out at the view, which isn't all that terrible. ) Unless you really would like to share a room, in which case, I don't believe it would matter. Do you?

( maybe just one more tease. )

Your new home as well, Belle. And I'd rather know you're comfortable. To make up for the... accommodations I offered you when you first met.

[He leans in the doorway of the room, watching her still.

At what she says next, his eyebrows shoot upwards.]

Well, it would cut down on the furniture we'd need to buy. Always important to be efficient, don't you think?

But even then you'd still get first choice of rooms.

It wasn't completely uncomfortable in there. There was straw to lie on.

( small comforts beat no comforts, yes?

she shakes her head at his comment. )

Oh yes, efficient. Although I'm surprised you would buy the furniture, rather than just, ( she turns to look at him and vaguely motions her hand in a similar manner in which he does to produce things from nothingness. ) make them appear.

How sweet of you, giving the lady the first choice. See? Gentlemanly.

Well that's true, actually. You should be pretty grateful for that level of luxury.

[Another little laugh slips past his lips at that.] I thought you might appreciate it, if I tried to do things the old fashioned way. Besides, magic has its cost. Sometimes the more mundane way of things is easier.

[He steps back then and drops a deep, flourishing bow.] So it is then. I've been caught red handed!

Grateful, indeed. ( head shaking goes here.

she bobs her head in thought, but eventually nods to him. he has mentioned time and time again that magic comes with prices, she can believe him. ) Very well, so purchasing it is. ( do you like how she's not yet said yea or nay to sharing a room for realsies? )

I knew it! ( hand to her hip, she points the other dramatically toward him with a smile, laughing as she does. ) A complete gentleman in disguise!

[Still holding the bow, he peeks up before straightening up.] My greatest secret, cast into the light! How shocking.

[He laughs again and glances around.] But here we are. Settling in. It'll be lovely.

I may have to go to the press with this one, it is that shocking a reveal. ( she chuckles )

Settling in, yes. And soon you'll hear the pitter-patter of little feet. ( she smiles almost sincerely, that is, until it turns into a wickedly amused grin. ) Or large ones, depending on whom you have as customers.

Truly scandalous, deary. The world will never be the same.

[He falls silent at that. Wh-what now. And then when it becomes QUITE OBVIOUS that he's been trolled, he laughs, waving a hand.] I cater to all sorts and sizes of customers, of course. It's bad business to discriminate.

Not at all.

( she laughs, thoroughly amused at his reaction. then nods to him, approving of his nondiscriminatory business rules. ) What an excellent businessman.

[A high pitched, manic little giggle. He can't quite keep him still.] Of course I am. I'm the best at what I do, deary. At all the things I do.

Oh, ( she chuckles. ) I believe you.

Well, if you aren't partial to this room, I suppose I'll have it.
