Deal 002 ❖ [Video]

[And onto the video screen comes a grinning face, looking just a bit excited. But then, he has something in his conniving little head. He can't quite seem to help it.

Or maybe he can. Half of his actions are a carefully kept facade. But either way, here's the grin and the video feed fidgets just a bit as he sets it down on a table.]

Good afternoon to everyone! I... am looking for something.

I think I'm getting the general lay of this place. Yesyes, it's starting to make sense. Fascinating as it is. Strange as it is. But I've yet to find a certain something I would rather like to acquire.

So tell my, dearies, can anyone tell me where I might find a spinning wheel?

[Rumpelstiltskin is keeping quiet now. He'll let her draw her own conclusions. He's sure she's figured out his reasoning. When she speaks he looks to her once more.]

Oh I'm still looking while I'm here, deary. After all, there are other worlds reachable from here. And that is what I'm looking for, another world, where Bae has gone.

Another world? ( she glances at him in shock. ) Your son went to another world?

( she shouldn't be so surprised, considering she's found herself in a new world alongside of him. but up until a few days past, she wasn't aware of worlds beyond her own existing all that much )

How... is that possible?

[A little nod at that.] Yes yes, a world without a shred of magic in it.

[Here his gaze darkens.] A fairy gave him a way. A small magic thing that was the last of its kind. So when I didn't-- well, I've been looking into this for quite a while now.

( a world with no magic, well, it certainly isn't this one then, is it? she frowns at the realization that it can't be this one for that reason. no parent should be without their child.

Belle is at a loss for words here. she can imagine what took place, but knows better than to voice said thoughts. lowering her head to stare at the ground as she slowly wanders alongside of him, the brunette reaches her hand out to grasp his own in small comfort )

I'm so, so sorry...

[His initial reaction is to pull away and shrug off her words. He doesn't need pity. He doesn't need pity.

But it's Belle. And she will always be an exception for him.

So instead his fingers curl about hers, just slightly.] I don't deserve your pity, deary.

It's like you said. I'm a cowardly thing. And because of that I'm left with nothing but regrets and broken things.

( she surprised that his grasp closes on hers, showing it by giving his hand a squeeze. gently, Belle gives a shake of her head at him. )

That was different. That was... Before I knew. ( a frown )

[Now his laugh is resurfacing, just as sharp and manic and wild as ever.] Oh no, Belle. You were quite right. It's what happened before. And again. And again.

[He smiles and now he's apparently ready to shrug out of the serious topic.] But I'm nothing if not clever. I'm certainly planning on setting things right. Or, well, righter than they are.

[No matter what he has to do or what he has to break to do so.]

( she frowns all the more. ) Rumpelstiltskin...

( she sighs softly, giving his hand another squeeze before pulling it back from his. does that mean more spells? more curses? more losing him further and further to dark magic? Belle wonders to herself if she can even really watch him put himself through something like that? ) What sort of plan might you be talking about, exactly...?

[Oh he recognizes that tone but he just laughs and prances a few steps ahead of her.] That remains to be seen. There is more than one way to open a door.

Though being in this place, that may change things as well!

( she turns her head, watching him perk up and move delightfully before herself. oh no, she knows what that means. rather than smile or be amused at his antics this time though, Belle just continues to frown. if he's going to do anything, though, she'd want to be there with him at his side, doing whatever she can to help with whatever he might need.

to be a caretaker, as it were. )

I might not be entitled to it, but... ( fingers nervously toying together before herself, she shifts somewhat nervously from one foot to the other ) Will you let me help you? I'll do whatever you may need me to...

[Rumpelstiltskin turns back to face her. And he considers for a long moment, half torn whether to brush this off.

He should. It's not safe for others to know his plans. It's not safe to let anyone in. Close.

But he holds out a hand towards her, grin splitting his face.] Are you offering a deal here, my dear? I'm afraid for you and me, there will be no more deals.

But if you want to stay, to help... then I'd gladly have you.

( chewing the inside of her cheek, Belle contemplates telling him it need be a deal. that way he might not go back on it so easily; but then again, given their previous one...

lowering her gaze to his hand, she shifts her feet once more and moves to take it into her own whether that was what he was offering or not. ) It need not be a deal.

It's an offer, one that will never go away. Should you ever want or need it, my help I mean, it will always be there for you.

[Rumpelstiltskin watches her expression.

He's touched. His face doesn't seem to know how to find the correct expression to show this though, so his lips twitch towards a smile, stop, try again before he just nods.]

Well. Then, good. That settles that.

( her lips form her own smile, amused at his own attempt for one. she once more let's his hand go and stepping toward him, pats his shoulder as she walks by him. time to move past all the serious talk, after all it's not the most simple thing for him to deal with. )

So, how about we go find a building or two to look at? ( she folds her arms behind her back as she wanders along, glancing over her shoulder with an amused smile ) Have you chosen a name for your shop to be?

[...emoting is hard when you mean it, ok? He watches her go for a moment before falling quickly into step, even as he chides himself for following after her like an eager puppy. He's Rumpelstiltskin! He follows no one but himself.

And Belle.]

Yes, let's find somewhere suitable. I'm eager to set up shop! [A pause and he considers before announcing, with a flourishing gesture.] Rumpelstiltskin's!

( she gives a light chuckle as he announces the name for his shop, rolling her eyes with amusement. she grins. )

What an exceptionally creative name. ( only not really. still, it's sort of cute for him to have been so 'excited' about it. )

What kind of building do you want? Need it be large, or...?

Why thank you, deary. I thought so too.

[As for what he needs. Hmm.] Nothing too extravagant. I'll need a room out front for doing business and a room out back for, well, let's call it a workshop shall we?

Perhaps if there are other rooms we can call it a temporary home as well.

A workshop, ( she echoes the words. somehow they seem a bit haunting, but she shakes it off. she has no desire to know what he might do within the confinements of a 'workshop.' so instead, she replaces the fretting with something she assumes he will be doing in there that is 'innocent' enough: ) for your spinning, I imagine.

A home? ( she can't help but to smile at that one. ) I'll make sure it's in tiptop shape for you. ( she chuckles )

That's right! [Come now, Belle. Just to make potions and place his spinning wheel, really. Mostly. Honestly. Kind of.] That's right. And for crafting items that may be useful. Potions, little charmed bits and bobs.

[That has him laughing.] My my! I've secured myself a housekeeper even before I have a house to keep. I'm impressed with me.

Nothing dark, I trust? ( well, she can ask and hope and pray that there be nothing dark, but, this is Rumpelstiltskin and she knows him better than that. )

I've only ever had one job in my life, it's apparently the only thing I've ever managed to do correctly. ( she smiles ) Why stop now?

Why deary, this is me we're talking about.

[Not reassuring. But he can't quite help it. He laughs again and glances over towards her.] Well, we know I'm hopeless about being tidy, so this will work out well.

( yeah. that's what she's afraid of.

Belle gives a grin. ) You're just awful at being tidy. And yet so very, very lucky you have a caretaker willing to work for you. ( she chuckles ) And for free, at that.

[That usual, toothy grin splits his face for a moment.] Oh yes, deary. I'm downright blessed.

[He may be saying it lightly, but he means it quite sincerely.]

Har har. ( she wanders along the industrial district, glancing to buildings every so often. most of them appear to be occupied, although there are a select few that appear, well, less than occupied.

she outstretches her arms and turns to look at him, motion to the buildings around them ) Do you see anything that you like?

[He chuckles to himself happily. And oh he's looking. And has been looking. And when she asks he grins and gestures quite grandly to the left. A quaint looking little storefront, though it's also quite empty looking, the sign faded and half fallen off the post.] What do you think of that one?
