[ The video flickers on and tries to focus on its current target. Have fun seeing various t hings like a palm tree, sand, water, a palm tree again, feet, that palm tree again, then a zoomed in face fumbling around while mumbling is heard in the background. Someone is trying to work the new dangled mechanism properly! Finally the camera pans around and we see a better view of Rinoa's face, although it's still fairly close to the camera ]

—red button or something. Oh! There we go! Okay, I think I got it! So! Here I am...

[ She turns the camera around and displays her current location in Destiny Islands. She appears to be at the shore enjoying the beach scenery and beautiful ocean waves. ]

I think the Moogle said this was... Destiny Islands? Something like that! Originally, I woke up in a place called Traverse Town, but for some reason I was given a dorm room here to attend an academy of some sort. I'm not that young, you know! [ pauses ] It's ... really pretty. Not quite like home but definitely a great spot to mysteriously end up at.

[ She turns the camera back to herself, this time not quite as close up so you have a better visual. Enjoy! ]

And this is me, Rinoa Heartilly, utterly and completely lost! [ gives a soft smile! ] So hey, if any of you happen to know where I can find my friends, feel free to drop me a line! Selphie, Quisty, Zell, Irv—well maybe not so much Irvine—but if any of you are out there I could reeeeally use some friendly and familiar voices right now!

[ Pausing, she pulls the camera in again so that there's a closeup of her face. For whatever reason she's speaking in a lower tone, even though this close up you can practically hear her without having to turn the volume up. ] And if you're a certain youknowwho from youknowwhere who is always youknowwhatgrumpyallthetime, hopefully you'll see this message and—


[ Barking is suddenly heard and the camera lowers to get a visual on Angelo ]

Oh, right! I almost forgot about that. Sorry girl! [ A bit of dog whimpering is heard before the camera pans back to Rinny. ] We're going to check out the beach before we head back to the academy place. Just be sure to say hi if any of you get this message, okay? Okay!

[The communicator flickers to life and a very fatigued Seifer appears. He seems to be recovering from a few injuries, but otherwise seems okay.] Okay, so the moogle thing said I can leave a message for anyone on this. So. Here goes, I guess.

[He sighs and looks away for a moment before looking back at the screen.] My name's Seifer and I guess I'm about as lost as everyone else here. I got lost during Time Compr--you probably don't even know what that is, do you?

Whatever. I got separated from my world, and I'm just trying to see if anyone could help me fing anyone I'd know. Fujin or Raijin, Squall Leonheart, Rinoa Heartilly, Quistis Trepe. Hell, even Chick--Zell Dincht. So, yeah. If you know any of those guys, or if you're listening, try finding me, or something. I'm in Traverse Town.

[The video feed opens on an incredibly puzzled looking young man with short-cropped silver hair and gray eyes. There’s a bit of sports tape holding a bandage over his left eye. He glances once over his shoulder, and the movement of his head allows a moogle to be glimpsed in the background. The moogle appears to be a major contributor to his confusion, and he turns his attention back to the communicator, his lips twisted into a frown.]

Hello. I… [He pauses, glancing upwards. He usually prides himself on remaining calm in unusual situations, but this…] This place is unreal. Like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

[He had been told that it was a different world, that his own had been destroyed. He had never so much as left Japan. It was a strange situation to have to adapt to, and he couldn’t help thinking he might wake up any moment and find himself tucked away in his own dorm room.]

Am I dreaming?

Kupo! [The moogle behind him draws his attention, and for a moment, all the feed shows is the back of his head.] I told you, you’re wide awake! This is Traverse Town!

[He shakes his head. Really, the moogle is like nothing he’s ever seen before.] You’ve been very helpful. I’m sorry, I’m still a little shaken up. … if you don’t mind my asking, what are you?

Haven’t you ever seen a moogle before, kupo?

Sorry, no. Nothing like you where I’m from.

I feel sorry for you, kupo. A world without moogles isn’t much of a world at all!

[Akihiko nods once, but looks a bit dubious as he turns his attention back to the communicator.] When I arrived, he mentioned there were others here like me – people from other worlds, that is. Is it the same for all of us, then? Are we all strangers here?

[Clearly, he not only finds this difficult to believe, but doesn’t much want to believe it.]

[Quistis appears somber as she peers intently at the communicator, directly into the video feed. At first, she hadn’t been entirely certain that she was far from home at all – moogles were certainly not unfamiliar, and the architecture reminded her vaguely of some of the smaller towns she’d been to in her travels. Once the situation had been explained to her, however, it was clear that she was going to have to adapt and start thinking of this place as her base of operations for the time being.]

Hello. I am Quistis Trepe of SeeD. [She pauses, shaking her head briefly as though it will help her to shed the formality. Old habits certainly did die hard.]

I’m a rather new arrival here in Traverse Town; is there anyone who might be able to tell me a little more about this place? The moogle was helpful, to a degree, but he was in a hurry to run off once he pointed me towards this device. If anyone could offer a bit of information about the town and the areas surrounding, I would very much appreciate it.

[She pauses a second time.]

Is it possible that others from my home world may have made it here, as well? Please, if there's anyone here from Garden, do contact me.
