[When Yuuki woke from her days-long sleep, she still had the memories and the emotions of months of her life crushing her--unsorted and jumbled. One thing that was clear was the sound of the Bloody Rose firing from within Ruka's illusion and the feel of the bullet moving through her head. It had been painful and it had left hunger and desperation in its wake.
In her dream--her memories--she had know: Kaname was going to walk right into a trap. She hadn't been able to stop him. Something terrible was going to happen again.
She pressed her hands to her forehead, finding everything intact, and fought back a wave of helplessness. There was so much to still come to terms with and so many feelings to sort, but she knew that she was no longer at the Academy; she wasn't wearing her uniform and Artemis wasn't in her hand. There was a chance that maybe, just maybe, things wouldn't have to turn out that way.]
Kaname? [She slowly pushed herself up and looked around. Had he stayed with her or had his interest taken him elsewhere again? She wished, perhaps in vain, for the former.]
[After a while, she turns on the video feed.]
It sounds like Aidou-senpai overreacted a little when I fell asleep. It was only for a few days... [She smiles brightly; that's totally normal, okay.] I actually had a lot of interesting dreams while I was asleep. It was just like I was back at home again!
[And she really does a good job of making that sound like a good thing, even though everything at home was falling apart.]
If senpai worried anyone, I apologize. I'm just fine now, I promise. I'll be back to help at the cafe tomorrow, Fai-san.
[Filtered to Aidou]
Senpai... [Her smile fades away; there's no use pretending in front of him, not right now.] If it's okay with you, I'd like to speak with you...alone. I think we have a lot to talk about.
