[It's his day off and he's meditating. He had drifted off to Rei's little zen temple and hadn't exactly left it for several hours. Normally, by then, he should have been on an entirely different plane of enlightenment but recently, it had become a lot harder to concentrate. There was a roosting ducklette over his crossed legs deep in sleep. Kanda had tried putting it aside but it always managed to wake up and crawl back onto his lap, he was trying to ignore it.]
It must be the heat. [He muttered to himself, bringing the back of his hand underneath his bangs to wipe away some sweat. It had never been a problem before, once he was calm he wouldn't even feel it but his senses weren't working with him. He lifted his gaze and glared at the in-scents burning.]
Maybe it's that stupid thing.
[Without so much as a pardon he shoved the snoozing duck off his lap and walked over to it, cutting the stem in half and crushing the still burning end in his palm. He brushed off the ashes still sticking to his sweaty palm.]
Where is she, anyway? Aren't you supposed to be looking after this place, Hino? [The duck didn't seem to be interested in his questions, it's rolled over and settled itself over the mat he had been sitting on. Kanda just heaved a sigh.]
At least one of us doesn't seem to have a care in the world.

Did you sign up for the Hades Cup? I need to train. Wake up, beansprout.
