[The worker walked over to Kanda presenting him the first kendo stick. He took it in his arms, standing up, and sizing it up in silence before continuing.]

Whether you're a child or a woman, you can never assume your enemy will show you any mercy. More often than not, they don't care about discipline or follow any codes for war. They'll kill indiscriminately so you will be trained the same way. Gender doesn't make a warrior, their skill with a sword does. If you're willing to accept that then I will be your teacher.

[The worker returned with the second stick and Kanda took it, scrutinizing the hilt, it was a bit more bulkier than the previous one he was shown and he nodded his approval to the worker who quickly moved away.]
